This is an update for the City Council and residents regarding the ongoing power outage impacting our community.
While power has been restored and things appear to be calm, we want to remind everyone that this may be a temporary situation, as high winds are predicted for Saturday and Sunday. In the event that we experience another power outage, we are prepared to resume emergency services.
At this time, City Hall and the Senior Center are fully operational and will provide services during normal business hours.
Should the power go out again, we will resume operation of the two city-staffed warm centers/charging stations: City Hall (24-hour availability) and the Senior Center (open 8:00am-8:00pm). We also have staff on call throughout the weekend to assist with any urgent needs.
- Please note that building inspections are being rescheduled for next week and beyond.
- Our maintenance crew is actively addressing the ongoing issue with several traffic signals that are currently flashing.
- Today, lunch will be provided to seniors at the Senior Center.
- Additionally, since local eateries are still struggling with inventory and may not be fully operational, food trucks will be stationed at City Hall this evening from 5:00pm to 9:00pm for anyone that would like to purchase meals.
During times like these, it’s more important than ever to check on your neighbors, especially our more vulnerable residents such as seniors, disabled individuals, and families with children. Together, we can ensure that everyone stays safe and supported.
We have an amazing community here in the City of Grand Terrace - one that consistently comes together in times of need. Your support for one another is truly inspiring.
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are here to assist you. If you have any questions or experience a power outage, please contact us at (909) 954-5200.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.
