City of Grand Terrace - Power Outage Update for Residents and City Council
As our small, tight knit community faces power outages, it’s more important than ever to come together and support one another. We encourage everyone to check on your neighbors, especially our most vulnerable residents - seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families with young children. In truth, everyone benefits from a little extra care during this time, so let’s be considerate and mindful of each other’s needs.
Power Status:
- Southern California Edison (SCE) has posted on their Outage Status / PSPS map that power still remains out for many residents in Grand Terrace.
- For the latest updates, please visit www.SCE.com . You may register at www.sce.com/outagealerts to receive text, email, or automated phone call outage alerts. Information is continuously updated by SCE and may change frequently.
- Power remains out along the Grand Terrace Road, Honey Hills, and Preston corridors and portions of Observation Street.
- The traffic signals at Honey Hill and Barton are non-operational, please obey the traffic signs as this is currently a 4-way stop.
- We are continuing to monitor the situation, and with the power out again, our emergency response plan is in place.

Misconstrued Information:
- Power Outage and City Involvement:
- There have been misconceptions about the City "blocking" power to residents. This is untrue. The City has no control over the power situation. This is why we have opened warm centers that provide light snacks, water, charging stations, heat, and meals for our seniors.
- The City is not receiving revenue due to the power outages or from anything we are providing. The reason Food Trucks were scheduled was for someone who wanted an option of a warm meal that was close to home.
- The City is not giving away free generators to residents.
- There have been no deaths or injuries reported as a result of the power outages.
- There have been no reported incidents of looting or robbery.
