Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) – City of Grand Terrace
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are secondary residential units located on the same lot as a primary home. In the City of Grand Terrace, ADUs may be constructed as detached units, attached additions, or conversions of existing space such as garages or interior areas. These units provide complete, independent living facilities and are intended to expand housing options, support multi-generational living, and create potential rental opportunities.
State law and local regulations allow most residential properties in Grand Terrace to develop one ADU and one Junior ADU (JADU), subject to standards such as maximum size (generally up to 1,200 square feet), height limits, and required setbacks.
