What We Do

The Building and Safety Division serves residents, businesses, and developers by ensuring that construction within the city complies with applicable codes, ordinances, and safety standards. The division is committed to protecting public health, safety, and welfare while supporting responsible development throughout the community.

The Building and Safety Division serves residents and developers by:

  • Answering general questions related to construction, inspections, permits, and code requirements
  • Reviewing construction plans for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

  • Issuing building, grading, and related construction permits

  • Conducting field inspections for projects with active permits

  • Enforcing building codes and safety regulations

  • Providing guidance to property owners, contractors, and design professionals throughout the construction process

Solar
You can now submit your solar applications online with flexibility and ease. Our streamlined process helps guide you through the required checklist and simplifies the intake process.

  • Review Time: 3–5 business days

  • Submittal Platform: All solar reviews are conducted through Submittal Portal by Building Department staff

  • Invoice & Payment: Once your application is reviewed, an invoice will be emailed to you. Payments can be made online

  • Permit Issuance: After payment, your permit and job card will be emailed to you

Building & Safety – Inspection Requests

We now offer inspection requests by email.
To schedule an inspection, please email or call Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 909-954-5200.

(Please ensure you receive a confirmation of your inspection.)

Include the following information in your request:

  • Building Permit Number

  • Requested Inspection Date

  • Type of Inspection

  • Gate Code (if the property is in a gated community)

Important: All animals must be secured and kept away from the inspection area prior to the inspector’s arrival.
